The Interpretive Tram Tours are back this season!
Established in 1943 to protect migratory birds, Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is positioned along an east-west and north-south juncture of two major migratory routes for many species of birds. The refuge is right in the middle of all this biological diversity, making this 2,088-acre parcel the ājewel of the National Wildlife Refuge System.ā Enjoy a unique guided tour through a pristine, protected area where Spanish moss hangs from tall-reaching ebony trees and sabal palms rise between prickly pear cacti. Santa Ana NWR is the home of more than 400 species of bird, nearly half of all butterfly species found in North America, and such South Texas specialties as the Indigo snake and the Altamira Oriole.
Feel free to call our office if you have any more questions.
